Transparent Pricing

Pricing

We don't publish flat prices for concrete or masonry work, because the honest number depends on the size of the job, the finish you want, and what's actually underneath the surface. What we do is come out, look at the job, and give you a fair, written estimate before anything starts — free of charge. If a job is done right, we'd rather you hear about it from a neighbor than from an ad.

What Actually Drives The Price

These are the things that change the number on a real estimate, which is why an honest quote takes a look at the job rather than a figure over the phone.

Type of workWhat the quote depends on
Concrete driveways, sidewalks & patiosSquare footage, subbase prep, and whether you want a plain flat finish, a decorative stamped pattern, or a color/stain treatment.
Paver installationArea, layout complexity, and the paver material chosen.
Retaining wallsWall height and length, whether it's structural/load-bearing or a decorative planter wall, and site access.
Stone, brick & stucco veneerSquare footage covered, material (stone, brick, or stucco), and whether it's a full exterior, an accent wall, or chimney/basement parging.
Fireplaces & chimneysScope of the build — a full custom fireplace is a different job from a chimney repair or parging.

Every estimate is written and explained before work begins — no surprises on the invoice.

FAQs

Frequently asked

How fast can I get an estimate?

Call or text (570) 815-3864. Joe comes out, looks at the job, and gives you a fair price up front — that's the thing clients mention most in their reviews.

Can I get a color, stain, or pattern in the concrete?

Yes — flat or textured finishes, stamped patterns, and custom color or stain options are all available. Ask about your own vision for the space.

How do you prevent concrete from cracking?

Concrete does crack, but it's controlled with a solid compacted subbase, wire mesh or rebar, minimal water in the mix, and properly spaced control joints so the material shrinks and flexes where it's supposed to instead of cracking at random.

How do you care for concrete after it's installed?

Concrete is durable and low-maintenance, but sealing protects it against salt, acid, water and UV damage — the things that actually deteriorate it over a Pennsylvania winter.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Joe Dougher Masonry Contractor is a registered Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor, HIC #PA088400, and carries insurance.

Which areas do you serve?

Scranton, Clarks Summit, Dunmore and the surrounding NEPA area.

Will the concrete be perfectly smooth?

Concrete is not a manufactured product, so minor imperfections are normal — many clients are actually drawn to decorative concrete for that character.
